We most likely are at the point now that the U.S. can no longer financially afford the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The options of what to do are not great. The prospects of winning in either area are dismal. The local populations, for the most part, are not on our side. This appears to be one of the biggest roadblocks to any form of victory in these areas. If the government is compelled to continue the wars, then maybe we need a "war tax". Maybe this should have been done along time ago. I think the wars would have been over by now if Americans felt the cost of these conflicts in their wallets
