I do not think it is a good thing when non-scientists comment on or try to give their explanation of scientific matters. Those who are global warming "deniers" routinely put their spin on the global warming debate. Apparent small changes of the average global temperatures are a big deal for climate change. Climate and local, day-to-day weather changes are two different things. Even if you don't think humans are affecting global warming, why take a chance? Polluting less and protecting the environment are good things, no matter what.
